Kid Flash is a superhero mantle shared by several characters in DC Comics. The most well-known Kid Flash is likely Wally West, the nephew of Iris West and the former sidekick to the Flash (Barry Allen).
Wally gained his speed powers after an accident mirroring the one that granted Barry his abilities. He was introduced in The Flash #110 (December 1959) as Kid Flash. As Kid Flash, he was a member of the Teen Titans, aiding them with his super-speed and youthful exuberance.
Wally West eventually succeeded Barry Allen as the Flash after Barry's death in the Crisis on Infinite Earths storyline. He continued the Flash's legacy, eventually becoming one of DC's premiere heroes.
